Ciao Julie,
without knowing it you have put a spin on a very traditional recipe from the Italian region of Puglia, orecchiette coi broccoli. The original recipe only calls for olive oil, peperoncino, broccoli (or rabe), garlic and a lot of shaved pecorino! Traditionally it is a pasta made with orecchiette because, as you say, they hold up to the broccoli pretty well, and orecchiette are commercially available from Barilla and De Cecco. You can also use farfalle, bowties...
Great recipe! Ciao!

MMMM Divine! I'm vicariously tasting your creations this morning and wishing I had the time to make them tonight. I remember the days before I had a toddler that I would delicately pull apart brussels sprouts-leaf by leaf to make a very similar Alice Waters pasta dish.
